It has been great honor for me to serve as Head of the Department(HOD) of the Department of surgical oncology of NICRH, Dhaka,  Bangladesh since 2021. There is no question that outstanding surgical oncologic care is the mainstay for the majority of people having cancer in Bangladesh.  I continue to be impressed and proud  of the excellent oncology care given by our department of surgical oncology,  NICRH while surgical management of cancer patients has been interwined with medical and radiation oncology for the last few decade.  

 I wish to pay  tribute to the former H.O.Ds for all that they were able to do and to express my appreciation for there efforts in building the Department of surgical oncology almost from the scratch as its foundation H.O.D. 

Our surgical oncology team includes several highly-qualified, experienced surgeons devoted to producing optimal outcomes for patients and advancing surgical management techniques for cancer. Many of our surgeons have trained or practiced at top international cancer hospitals and have obtained Certifications from abroad . Members of our surgical team hold expertise in the sub-specialty areas covering the entire body, including many minimally-invasive and limb-sparing techniques not widely available in Bangladesh .

We focus on multi-disciplinary cancer research which can be quickly brought to the bedside for patient treatment. Our team of clinicians and basic scientists work together in harmony with only one objective: helping cancer patients and their families.
